Mazda → Mazda CX-5 – Crossover Without Performance Anxiety

Mazda is currently promoting a new model for 2013, the Mazda CX-5. They are billing it as a compact crossover SUV with handling and performance usually reserved for Mazda sports models. With a commitment to deliver a more fuel efficient crossover without compromising performance, Mazda gave the new CX- 5 a newfangled 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder engine that uses the same compression ratio as a formula one race car. The high compression ratio allows for more energy from fuel, 155hp and around 35 mpg highway while consuming 15 percent less fuel and lowering emissions than in previous models. By the way, this new Mazda CX-5 is happy to run on 87 octane fuel. To compliment the race car engine and deliver more of that performance Mazda is so keen on they also added a new six-speed automatic transmission. (more…)
